I Learned Something about Myself 1.0

I suddenly realized that people who actually know how to care for their hands and nails do not use carpentry tools, or anything hanging from a key chain, to do so.

Dang. It seems so simple in retrospect.

Christmas has come

...and gone.

The tree is gone. The wrapping paper is in the recycling bin.

The cookies are gone. I am fatter than before.

The toys are scattered around every room in the house and on the stairway. They make noises, aided or unaided by their new owners.

My son lays on the floor for hours assembling Bionicles, or fights bad guys on the Television screen.

My daughter grooms her dolls or horses or reads another Harry Potter.

My wife helps with the quilt using the new sewing machine.

I am spying on the "neighbors" on the hill, a half mile away, with my new binoculars.

Thousands of dollars in web shopping carts, wrapped or mailed packages, holiday flights, spent bows, and a cardboard packaging, wrapping paper and plastic mountain of trash later, and Christmas has gone.

It took New Years with it.

I
     wish
          you
               the best
                    year
                         ever!
